BSIT
The newest offering of the College of Computer Studies. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology is another subset of computer science. It encompasses all aspects of computing technology. As an academic discipline, it is concerned with issues related to advocating for users and meeting their needs within an organizational and societal context through the selection, creation, application, integration and administration of computing technologies. This discipline prepares students to meet the computer technology needs of business, government, healthcare, schools and other kinds of organizations.
Information Systems focuses on the information aspects of IT. Information Technology is the complement of that perspective: its emphasis is on the technology itself more than the information it conveys. IT specialists assume responsibility for selecting hardware and software products appropriate for an organization, integrating those products with organizational needs and infrastructure, and installing, customizing, and maintaining those applications for the organization's computer users. Examples of these responsibilities are the installation of networks, network administration and security, the design of web pages, the development of multimedia resources, the installation of communication components, the oversight of email systems, and the planning and management of the technology life cycle by which an organization's technology is maintained, upgraded and replaced. (ACM IT Curriculum, 2008)
Students are required to undergo practicum for 486 hours or one semester. They are also required to submit and defend 2 capstone projects (proposal and final).
BSIS
Bachelor of Science in Information Systems is one subset of Computer Science. It deals with the design and implementation of solutions that integrate IT with business processes. The program teaches students about hardware and software applications and how they can use them to collect, filter, process, create and distribute data. It ensures that information systems applications can be used in various industry sectors like business, education, media and entertainment, healthcare, government and service. It focuses on teaching students how to bridge computer science and business. It is not purely concerned on ICT, it concentrates instead on the end use of IT in various industries.
Students in this course are required to undergo practicum in a corporate IT/IS industry for 486 hours or one semester. They are also required to submit and defend a Capstone Project in the form of an information systems application or an enterprise resource plan.

College of Computer Studies General Assembly
The College of Computer Studies will conduct its first College-wide assembly on July 24, 2015; 5:00pm-11:00pm at De Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. The different college co-curricular organizations (i.e. Xavier Computer Enthusiasts' League & Ateneo Information Systems Student Association) will showcase their different activities and programs that are purposeful to the whole student body.
