Engineering Design Lecture

Last May 16, 2015 at 9 am, a few faculty from the Chemistry department and Computer Science gathered to listen to Professor Vivek Subramanian at the American Corner of the old library in Xavier University. He is a professor from UC- Berkeley and his lecture is entitled "Use of statistically-driven experimental design to accelerate technology development and scientific discovery." It was quite very technical. There were also some faculty from Nueva Ecija, Siliman University and ADMU. We used Google Hangouts and it was a successful gathering. There was a technical problem at the start because the participants need to turn off their mics because the mics caused feedback. Later on, the talk went on smoothly. Ms. Bing Yaneza observed that their research is only up to analysis but ours in CS is applied research. We find problems, analyze, and develop solutions. A big thank you to Dr. Juliet Dalagan, the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, for inviting us to the lecture. Thank you also to Ms. Estrella Cabudoy for allowing us to use the American Corner for the video conference. Here are some photos:
